How the Faeries' Oracle Is Different

From the ancient shaman wrapped in furs and reading the throw of the bones, through the classical oracle at Delphi, and right on up to the modern psychic reader, people have always turned to oracles to gain information about the past, present, and future. Does this work? Yes, it certainly does. Further, with training and practice, almost anyone can serve as an oracle. How does it work? Ah, there is the real question.

 

There are two aspects to reading an ordinary oracle--the outer and the inner, the exoteric and the esoteric. Most oracles use a defined set of symbols like runes or cards. Each symbol has both an archetypal definition--an energy/direction/force--and an everyday definition regarding the practical aspects of daily life. Each symbol is rich in meanings, and the main task of the reader is to sort out which specific interpretations apply in each individual case.
